Meditative stucco

This omnipresent element of decoration on arcs and ceilings since the 13e century, remains very used in the recent construction industries. The old receipt contains marble dust and white egg. Nowadays, we use plaster and water. The real visitor is astonished by the richness of the reasons, often out of lace or stalactites. Some mandalas reach diameters of 78, 74 in.
The STUCCATORI carve the fresh plaster with the chisel with a speed mind-blowing. In order to unable it to treat important surfaces, they apply stencil key sets.
To appreciate fully this work like an element of architecture, and a contemplation of wellbeing at home, it is necessary to adopt the reclining position - obviously on adapted furniture. In this context, the cut of the Moroccan living rooms in length and their installation finds sound feel.
Abstract character of the reasons for the stucco, dictated by the religion which prohibits the representation of men and animals, charms the glance without fixing it and supports the meditation and peace in oneself.

The zellige

The zelliges, squares of enamelled earthenware compose the mosaics with geometrical reasons and arabesques which decorate the royal palates, the MEDERSA like the RIAD and the traditional.
According to an ancestral know-how, clay - that of Fès is said to be the most famous - is soaked in water a whole day, mixed, cleaned then run in iron or wood moulds. The squares are dried with the sun and pass first once in a brick furnace. They receive then their colours and undergo the one second cooking.
The traditional furnace is heated with the residues of the pressure of olives - the FAYTUR - which makes it possible to obtain a temperature of 900 degrees.
Once the parts are cooked and cooled, the MAALEM (master craftsman) draws the parts which he wants to obtain and size with a much sharpened special hammer.
There the final puzzle will be carried out with back to be able to run cement which will bind the realization. This craft industry which according to its meticulousness can become art is also found for plates of tables and is exported in the whole world.

The cob

A thousand-year-old technique already known of Phoenicians. The cob completely forms a part of the architectural landscape of Morocco.
Apparently rudimentary, the cob is actually very elaborate. It consists of building the houses with ground, without supporting it by any piece of wood (columns or pillars) and without mixing it neither with straw, nor with flock. For that it is formed, meaning we beat it by successive layers, in a formwork of boards, ground is prepared for this purpose. Thus beaten, it binds, takes consistency, and forms a homogeneous mass which can be high with all the heights given for the dwellings. The habitat thus built isolates from the cold and the hot seasons.
The enclosures strengthened (KSOURS) as that of Marrakech are bored holes, which are the trace of the formwork in which one ran the clay interfered straw which consolidated it.
One can still see surrounding walls built out of cob.

Tadelakt

Is a technique of wall lining which one traditionally finds in Hammams.
Out of natural, polished lime by the MAALEM it protects the walls from moisture and gives a heat particular to your interior. Once that lime applied is ready, the MAALEM passes a roller carefully what gives him its smooth and luminous aspect. The coating obtained is thus perfectly smooth and tight; today, it is very used for the bathrooms.

The bejmat

Is a floor covering made up of assembled rectangular ceramics squares in a geometrical way. Very decorative, we find it in many villas and riads.
